Watch Dancing With the Stars Season Finale / Best and Worst Season 8.

Watch Dancing With the Stars Season Finale / Best and Worst Season 8. On Season Finale: Tuesday at 9pm ET on ABC. The eighth season of “Dancing with the Stars” has been filled with magnificent moves, endless injuries, and revved-up replacements. But it’s all come down to the final three celebs: “Bachelor” winner-turned-dumpee Melissa Rycroft, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson, and actor Gilles Marini. So who’s got what it takes to impress the judges one final time and sashay away with the Mirror Ball Trophy? We’ll find out on the two-hour season finale.

Season 8 of " Dancing with the Stars" has definitely seen its share of ballroom brilliance, dance floor disasters and, of course, endless injuries. Two stars hurt themselves before the season started, forcing them to drop out of the competition and opening the door for last-minute replacements Holly Madison (eliminated Week 4) and Melissa Rycroft (certain to be a finalist). And early on in the season we even had to watch and vote on *gasp* dress- rehearsal footage when Steve-O and, later, Melissa Rycroft were too injured to perform their routines live, neither of which resulted in an elimination. Yes, it has been an interesting run with plenty of highs and lows, but as we near the finale with no clear frontrunner in sight I thought it would be a good time to take a look back and highlight the best and worst performances of Season 8.

Here are my picks for the best performances of Season 8:

BEST: Lil' Kim's Argentine Tango not only scored her the first 10 of the season, it heralded her as a true contender. Derek's intricate choreography was precise, passionate and truly showcased the pint-sized rapper's gorgeous lines and feet. A classy and sexy routine without even having to employ the "Bionic Booty." Bravo!

BEST: Ty Murray's Salsa to "Vehicle" was his breakthrough performance. Long dismissed as a subpar Latin dancer, this number silenced any doubt that he could perform a Latin routine. Ty showcased his assets that have made him so memorable in this competition: masculinity, power, understated sex appeal, and just plain fun. His transformation from week one has been astonishing, and I'm not just talking about the spray tan.

HONORABLE MENTION: Although Shawn Johnson has been solid all season, we had been anxiously waiting for her to break out of her shell and have some fun! Finally during Week 7 her partner Mark Ballas paired the perfect song ("P.Y.T") with some funky choreography and we loved every second of it.

The beginning of every season is typically filled with cringe-worthy performances by stars who are clearly out of their element. Sometimes I wish the judges had the power to end a terrible routine early because there is nothing worse than watching a couple crash and burn. Here are my picks for the worst performances of Season 8:

WORST: During Week 3, Denise Richards performed the saddest excuse of a Samba we've ever seen. More like a broken doll's funeral procession than the party dance of the ballroom, it reached new depths in the pantheon of painfully awkward, pretty-girl dances. The lethal combo of droll personality and limited dance ability proved fatal in her run for the mirror ball trophy.

WORST: Steve Wozniak's Samba, so bad it was almost good, scored a perfect 10 ... but that was a 10 out of thirty. We haven't seen the judges bust out the 3 paddles since the days of Master P, but Woz's worm-infested samba earned them. Bruno called it "the worst samba he has ever seen," and as adorable as the Woz was, it was textbook bad dancing.

HONORABLE MENTION: Poor Steve-O. We were so impressed that he actually took the competition seriously, but it turns out that he took it too seriously, which resulted in midpoint meltdowns. When he returned to the dance floor after his back injury, everyone was rooting for him, but halfway through his Foxtrot he completely blanked on his steps and the disaster was written all over his disappointed face. The failure was heartbreaking.
