Susan Boyle appears on Ophra Winfrey Show (with Video). Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle has continued her world domination, appearing on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

In interview, the 48-year-old told the most powerful woman on television why she entered 'Britain's Got Talent'.

'Mum died two years ago. After that there was a wee period where I didn't sing. You try and keep going through the pain. And that is what I try to do with my singing,' she said.

Clearly still coming to terms with her overnight success, Susan Boyle turned down an invitation to dine with US President Barack Obama.

American Idol judge Simon Cowell also appeared on the show, saying he thinks Adam Lambert will win this season of the popular singing competition show.

Cowell said his money is on Lambert because the contestant is fearless, unique and 'he's got swagger.'

Boyle became famous after she shocked judges and the audience with her version of I Dreamed a Dream from the musical 'Les Miserables.'

One of those judges was Cowell, who congratulated Boyle and wished her 'best of luck' in the rest of the competition.
