If there was one word used to describe Megan from her very first audition, it is definitely "quirky." From her vintage clothes to her tattoos to her extremely unique voice, the judges were smitten with a contestant whom they thought was relevant to today's music industry. She stayed true to her originality right to the very end, when she flapped her arms like a bird and "cawed" her way to a stool in the Bottom 3! However, in her interview with the media after her elimination, Megan says she has no regrets, even though there was a bit of controversy surrounding her comment to Simon that she didn't care about his critique. Apparently, a strong will runs in the family, as Megan even talked about the fact that she was proud of her brother, who heckled Kara DioGuardi from the audience after one of Megan Joy's performances! As she said, he's a lot like her in that he feels the need to always be himself and speak his mind.

Megan wants people to know that, even though she said that to Simon, it wasn't that she didn't care about the competition. She just wasn't caught up in what Simon said, in particular. But she also points out, she has "no beef with Simon," and she doesn't think he has any with her, either. Megan simply has a sort of laissez faire attitude toward life. As she puts it, "I have always just kept the mentality of whatever is supposed to happen will happen. I didn't ever put any expectations on myself." Her goal was to make the tour, and she dis just that, and is looking forward to getting back together with her AI buddies, who she said she will miss. What's interesting is, when asked to name her most amazing Idol experience, she said that it was the night that she had the flu! Megan says she was hooked up to IV's until right before she performed, and the fact that she did so well is "pretty incredible."

When asked about her advice for anyone auditioning, her suggestions are quite similar to the way she lives her own life. She said, "I would say follow your dream; do it and don't worry about people's opinions and negativity. Just put it past you and be positive and good things will happen." When it came to others' opinions on her throughout the season, Megan said she tried to not even pay attention, and didn't even get on the Internet to check and "buzz" surrounding her performances. In fact, she said the biggest thing she learned while on the show was to stay about the fray when it comes to the bad things people might say. As she put it, "I learned that there's always going to be people, negative people or haters, if you will, trying to bring you down, but you have to just forget about them and move past it always."

With her unique mannerisms and performances on the show, it's no big surprised to find out that her aspirations are also a bit interesting. On top of pursuing music, Megan says she loves cartoons and doing voices, and would even love to be a guest on the children's show Yo Gabba Gabba. In fact, Megan says she'd be open to pretty much whatever life throws her way!

Megan was fortunate to have people with her on the show who appreciated her quirky nature, and she even said that the Idols roasted her at the final dinner, including making animal noises! While she said she plans on squeezing her son for as long as he'll allow when she sees him, there was one thing she wanted to do before she left. She wanted to sing Phil Collins' "Separate Lives" next week so she could prove she can "belt it like the rest of them!"
